In Los Angeles nature is never really that far away. On the approach into LAX from the air the city looks like a maze of concrete and twisting roads. LA is known for it’s famous traffic as well as all the movie making etc, but the truth is it’s also an amazing town to be a cyclist in. The community there is deep and the rides are varied. The rides down the PCH along the ocean and then up into Latigo and Topanga are equally scenic and grueling.

In contrast to the epic canyon rides the downtown streets are busy, the traffic moves fast, it is city riding after all. The crush of buildings, people and traffic seemingly never ends. There is however a way to get away from the noise and into the open spaces. You just need an escape plan, one that takes you through neighborhoods and over highways into the many parks that LA has to offer.
